I bought a tyrosine supplement, it didn't work

I didn’t notice any difference when I started taking it to reduce the sedation that antipsychotics cause me, caffeine pills are much more effective. I’ll ask my doctor about levodopa (he’ll probably say no).

This is very true. Caffeine is also good for sedation cuz it has a very long half life.

Tyrosine works, but in large dosages and frequent uses.

I looked into it and it’s a lot of work. Empty stomach, B6, B9, and Copper supplements needed as well to convert it into neurotransmitters. I’m too lazy for that shite.

Pass the :coffee:

@pintac @shutterbug I asked ChatGPT and it tells me that a 150 mg dose is low. Maybe that is the problem.

If your main concern is fighting sedation caused by the APs, caffeine does quite a good job at it.

Ask your pdoc for options to counter your sedation.

tyrosine gives me brain fog, certain energy drinks i used to drink had it. also levodopa is no good, you can buy it legally as l-dopa supplement, but i say its no good because it just makes me angry with dark thoughts and basically every time ive taken it ive thrown away my ap leading to further problems

I think energy drinks have it. I think monster does, I’m not sure. I think elevated dopamine levels are bad for schizophrenics due to the dopamine hypothesis. I feel bad for being lazy, tired, and sedated. I like caffeine too.

I used to use supplements. The worst one was a racetam for cognitive enhancement.

I tried adderall once while inpatient. I had a bad reaction.

I took 600 mg (4 pills of 150 mg each) and nothing happened.

Everybody that has tried l-dopa, myself included found it makes things worse when on AP’s. Most AP’s supress dopamine, so raising it with certain supplements creates a bad interaction.
