I am in love with this

So I decided that oil paints are a bit too messy of a habit, they go everywhere and stain, and are so hard to get off paintbrushes

I looked at this tutorial on watercolour and it looks so distracting from stressful thoughts and sensations (something to take my mind off eating)

it is beautiful

Water colours are so simplistic and gentle I think I will make this my new hobby :revolving_hearts:

there are so many techniques to learn just watching this artist and I saw some things where I was thinking wow that is cool

Watercolours are also cheaper :innocent: than oil paints so it’s all round good

I always found watercolours super hard, I never could get the hang of them. Have you looked at watercolour pencils? they are quite interesting.

Yea I think they are not the easiest either but then again nor are oil paints imo, watercolour they’re just so much more easy to deal with in terms of price and cleaning… I have no motivation to clean oil paint off brushes etc for ages.

I’ve had a look at watercolour paintings online and they have this cool look about them so I really would like to try and learn those techniques used.
Theres so many techniques I think if u know the techniques it may get easier.

I bought Cottman (student version) Windsor and Newton watercolours and I can’t wait to use them. It was on sale and pretty cheap considering the brand. I have yet to use them though, as I don’t have a place where I can actually paint.

Cool  that’s nice that u gt it on sale too
I don’t have a desk or place either except on my bed so I just paint on my bed. Gonna buy a cheap board to use and take some free metro newspapers so that I can paint a bit more easily on my bed lol. Without messing up the sheets with paint…

My daughter took a TON of art classes. If you’d like help selecting good brands, let me know. I can ask her. Watercolors are my favorite.

Oh- it looks like Sennelier might be a good brand. She had us buy her these a few years ago. She might rpefer something else now, but this is a start.

Thanks for the advice

I was thinking of getting u know the ones that come in small blocks instead dunno something just looks easier about those ones

Do u water paint aswell?

I used to. Tremors and TD make it too hard now. I do adult coloring books to the best of my ability, though. But I’m never happy with my paintings, so I kinda just gave up.

@anon90843118 I got the water colours for the third of the price, originally £90. I’m a drawer and
draw on my dining table but my mum doesn’t want me to paint on it. Just have to try and convince her. Would love to see what you create. Also I would recommend buying cheap watercolours to practice with and when you’re improving move on to better quality.

That’s not a bad deal u got at all. Oh I hope the convincing works. I mean even if u get a slopdge of paint on the table top, u can always wash it off.
I’m just going to buy my material today thanks for the tip.
Have you ever water painted before?

I’d love to see what you will paint aswell if u feel up for posting it

I’ve done some watercolour painting before but I’m still at the beginner level and don’t use it the way you’re supposed to.

I’m hoping to show some art work once I paint something. Ive recently been drawing (especially digitallly). Going to post now.
