Im fishing for catfish and trout
Here in South Africa we catch catfish with Platanna’s(a type of frog) and trout with lures. I caught many catfish. The only fish I caught with a lure was Bass.

Ok this is gonna sound crazy but they say winding a woman’s pubic hair round the bait attracts more fish. Is a pheromones thing apparently
I like cray fish and live minnows. Usually though I end up using worms and salted minnows.
i’ve never caught anything. but i hear some people around here will use hotdogs for bait when trying to catch catfish. and my cousin was here last month and caught a catfish with a bread ball.

I used to use powerbait.
I’ve caught quite a few catfish on shrimp. I don’t know of any other bait that works. Do you know any fellow fishermen that can help.
I used to fish a lot. The best way to use shrimp is to let it sit in the sun for a day before you go fishing. The cat fish love stinky shrimp. They also like chicken livers treated the same way. I used to leave them in the back of my truck in the heat if I knew I was going fishing. I always bottom fished for catfish
In NC we fished for crappie/crawpie. There’s competitions. I caught a huge one using old, smelly shrimp! That was the first time I tried shrimp with a float.

We used to use Salmon eggs and worms. Night crawlers worked good.
This worked in my grandpas pond for catfish I threw dog food in the pond and the catfish came to the surface meow
