When I was 6 years old our den caught on fire dryer and washer.1987. I sat in the back of my great grandfather’s car.iasked the fireman to get my stuff animal dog. I still have that stuff animal today.
Every time i go out i go to the kitchen and look at each stove nob seperatly and i check if the water boiler cord is out of the wall…also i watch if everything in my room is out of the socket. Its a ritual.
Good you managed not to panic and got the fire out, A stove top burner I never used started on fire when i turned it on, had greese on it, I put a big pot lid over it and it smothered it, now I wipe the burners everytime I clean the top of the stove
My roast and the pan it was in caught fire in the oven in my old place. Never throw water on a grease fire so I coolly pulled out the rack with the burning roast and burning pan, went to the cupboard and got some baking soda and threw a ton of it on there until It went out. It ruined a good roast but it was quick thinking.
Sometimes I think of burning down the house for the insurance money. Jk
@77nick77 don’t tease about that stuff nick !! one time I put a cigarette out in the ashtray and then dumped it in the trashcan My cat Shadow meowed and woke me up and the trash can was on fire and filling the apartment up with smoke…had to air it out and i was embarrassed by my land lady who lived in the house in front of my garage apartment.
Many years ago I had a yellow hair dryer that blew up. Bang! I saw a flicker of flame inside. Pulled out the plug and just let the fire go out on its own. Planned obsolescence, you think?
