How would you feel if you lost your internet connection(not just due to a temporary technical glitch)

  • sheer discomfort and panic
  • mild discomfort but generally ok
  • take it in my stride

I would definitely be in the first category. I can go without sex so far for 26 years ,but the thought of losing the internet for more than a few days sends me into a blind panic.
Suffice it to say my life revolves round the internet. It may not be face to face interaction, but it gives me contact with others that would otherwise be denied me.

One of my major anxieties about a move is the thought of losing internet access if I move. To say I am paranoid about the possibility is to put it mildly.

Same for me.
I sometimes see those posts about "would you stay in this cabin for 1 moth without internet, in exchange for 50k$?"
To that I say: Hell no!

at times i dream of living somewhere just detached , a nice little surf town thats got self sustainabilility. but i still enjoy technology

My computer has to go into the shop for a couple of days to be repaired. I’m going to go crazy without internet!! :open_mouth:

I think we have 6 active computers in this household of two.
@Lionel you poor thing!

There are people that work so hard and have to listen for phone calls even at home.

It wasn’t so long ago that you had to use maps to find places, you had to find a pay phone to make a call.
I use to love to tell people, you can reach me on my home or work phone or then you CAN’T.

Turning a phone off, lets my brain unplug from the constant streaming nonsense of the world, look at pretty flowers, take walks and look at cute animals. then I feel better than I did wasting time looking at stupid utube videos.

Ok back to real life and getting up the nerve to talk to real people.
