So I relapsed again so far four times in as many years. Fortunately the relapses are less severe each time. It happens when I lower dose or change meds so far haven’t on 3mg. How long can I expect to be relapse free if I stick to the dose I am on. I’m tired of relapses and tired of the side effects of meds. Work is great and everything else is great but the illness sucks
Are you taking your meds every day? Or do you forget sometimes?
How do you know the relapse is less severe each time?
Don’t lower the dose or change meds? Seems like a no brainer.
I take them everyday never forget it’s like risperidone is all that works. Didn’t last long on ability and only two years on fluonxol
The amount of time I’m hospitalized and want to check out.
I’m always looking for something better. I’m not the same yet since before schizophrenia
It sucks that you can’t try other meds but then again you’re not treatment resistant. You’ve found a med and dose that works.
No one is 151515
I still need to try olanzapam or quietapine
Most schizophrenics arent. Some lost a bit of function and some lost a lot but almost all lost function.
I think it’s just part of the procedure for hospital to discharge you asap if you have multiple relapses to free up slot for first episode psychosis patients.
I don’t think it’s a sign of your psychosis getting less severe. If you still think it’s a sign of your psychosis getting less severe, by all means stop the antipsychotics. I can tell you there are people who relapsed 11-20 times throughout the 20 years after they had their first psychosis. Although it’s a trend for your positive symptoms to improve with time, most people I know just relapsed everytime they went off antipsychotics
The bedspace isn’t an issue because I’m private so there’s no pressure to discharge me they want to actually keep you longer to bill you more, the company medical aid covers the stays though. The relapses are minor it s just my girlfriend wants me monitored.usually after a clopixol accuphase and a med adjustment Im fine three days later. Stopping the medication won’t work for me if lowering or changing already causes relapse. It’s just I’m out of options till another antipsychotic comes out that is generic doesn’t cause weight and is as effective or more than risperidone. There are some antipsychotics but they too expensive since no generic so medical aid won’t cover.
