How to stop gynecomastia?

Since on Risperdal I am developing gynecomastia. I was good on Abilify and Latuda.

How to stop this without changing the antipsychotic? Meds, supplements?

You have to talk to your psychiatrist asap. It’s due to high prolactin.

One solution is adding a small dose of abilify.

Adding low dose Abilify to Risperdal - reduces prolactin

For those of you that are taking Risperdal or Invega and have high levels of prolactin, adding even a low dose of Abilify to the mix, could decrease prolactin levels by significant amounts. High levels of prolactin - and I know this from experience can diminish libido, lower teststerone levels, cause sexual dysfunction, trigger osteoporosis, cause females and males to ‘lactate’, cause gynecomastia etc… Unlike most antipsychotics, which have antagonistic activity at the dopamine-2 receptors, aripiprazole is a dopamine receptor agonist. Pdr said he’ll call this week but didn’t say which day.

How can a man have milk from breasts? We don’t have milk glands…I think we just get breasts but not milk…

I will ask my pdr and I am avoiding Abilify and Rexulti because they caused me addiction issues.
I think adding Latuda works too.

I don’t know about that. There may be other non AP meds for controlling prolactin though.

In the begining of my treatment with risperdal, i used to have some nipple sensitivity and a little pain. Then it went away with dose reduction I think. I’ve read that prolactin levels tend to diminish along the time.
