I use my phone way too much. I probably spend 80 - 90 % of my waking life doing something on my phone. YouTube, social media, games. I constantly need some kind of distraction. ChatGPT pointed out that my mind has associated focused attention with threat. I think it was spot on.

I’m constantly on my phone too. I don’t see anything wrong with it though!

I don’t think it’s healthy to constantly be externalizing our attention. A couple decades ago we gave ourselves time to process things after they happened. Now 5 minutes after we hear someone died we’re on YouTube or answering an email. Just seems like we’re getting farther and farther away from ourselves.
