How to improve art skills?

Which strategies do you use to improve your art skills?

I try to draw for one hour everyday but sometimes it seems I’m stuck and not evolving.

Try recreating someone else’s work. I think that’s what Michelangelo did. He sketched statues by the old Greeks.

Yeah, Hang around good art and instruction.

I’m just drawing on my own and I find it very difficult. Maybe I don’t see too much improvement because there is a lack of exchange. When I start college, I’ll join a drawing class.

Good idea. But I can’t draw very well flat images. When they are 3D (like a statue), it’s better. But I’ll try it more anyway.

I know a guy who has got a very good course on figure drawing. Pity I don’t have the money to pay for his videos. I’ll at least buy his book when it’s released. His name is Vilppu.

brugluiz I like your drawings. I believe you are rather talented at it.

They might have sculptures at art museums in your area. You can also sketch outside or maybe photos of the old Greek marbles. The good photos aren’t flat looking but are very 3d with good dramatic shadowing.

Yeah, I know him well. The old guy with no arms and no legs hanging on the wall. His brother Matt who also has no arms and no legs is cool too but I wish he would not keep laying on my doorstep.
