How the Media Should Be Reporting on Mental Health

They show good examples of people with other disabilities (e.g. people with Parkison’s doing art or an amputee playing sports), but there are precious few positive stories about those with SZ/SZa.

I haven’t read the article but to me the key is to help people understand it.

Person X had childhood trauma, deeply religious upbringing, a lot of stress and a genetic predisposition.

I think key is focusing on the psychological side of things so that people can understand the story and that there is more to a person than too much dopamine.

I think focusing on the biological side is a bad way to overcome stigma as it becomes an ‘abnormal’ story that people can’t relate to.
