I have anhedonia. I pretty much feel like my life is on autopilot and I don’t feel much excitement for anything.

Do you have sexual anhedonia as well? And if you were a smoker while you were healthy do you not get pleasure from smoking anymore?

I’m on invega and yes I have sexual anhedonia and I know its the medication. I feel less pleasure from my sexual kink and don’t partake in it like I used to do.
I’m on Invega shot and oral risperdone. I don’t find enjoyment in anything anymore.
What about before you ever took APs but after you had schizophrenia symptoms? So did you ever have anhedonia as pure symptom of schizophrenia?
But u never had the sexual anhedonia before the meds? It was never a symptom of schizophrenia for you?
No 100% it wasn’t. it slowly crept up on me. I think it was worse on Abilify 400mg. I can say honestly when I was on the highest dose I hardly ever felt need to ‘‘attend’’ to myself or enjoy participating in my sexual fetish when before I enjoyed a very good fetish lifestyle.
No non sexual anhedonia before the meds either?
I don’t remember, to be honest.
It would get worse when on APs. Just not feeling happiness from anything that would ordinarily bring me happiness. No sense of excitement for anything at all even if it was something huge I’d always wanted or been looking forward to. I hated anhedonia. As long as I take my meds (minus AP) I don’t get it.

What meds do you take now to not get it? So you do have anhedonia even when not on APs?
Yes I do. Depakote+modafinil and I no longer get what I thought were negative symptoms. Therefore I think my negative symptoms were due to a mix of depression and my untreated sleep disorder.
