How on earth does my credit card information keep getting stolen?

Last month I discovered someone was using my credit card number to make illegal purchases.

I canceled my card and they sent me another one a few weeks ago.

This morning I discovered it’s happened again!

The only time I’ve used it is to buy plane tickets online from my personal computer about 2 weeks ago.

How is this happening?

Malware On your PC maybe?

Probably malware/spyware on your device. That’s the most likely explenation anyways.

Thanks. I’ll try running a scan from one of those free anti-virus softwares.

Try “Windows defender” first. It comes with windows. Make sure it’s up to date and then get it to scan your PC.

I would change all your passwords too. Maybe they’re getting into your Google pay accounts or other online accounts where you’ve used your credit cards.

Also under firewall settings, reset your firewall to standard. This could potentially disable spyware programs on your computer.

Check where the last place you used it was. Maybe the card scanner was compromised

now that would scare me…someone has your numbers…on two different cards…sounds like inner embezzlement with the credit card company…I would change credit companies…you can get someone else to accept your balance on this card and usually give you more to use too.

If you use WiFi in a public place they can get all your info that way. Do you ever login on your phone or computer in public places?

That’s definitely a possibility.
