I read about an hour a day.

I used to read multiple books a day. Now some days I don’t read at all. I read to my kids almost every night and I will get into a good book once in a while, but without fail I always set it down and forget about it.

I try to read at least a chapter of a book a day. Usually do more and just back into it this past year. I went years without reading but read a lot when younger. I’m enjoying reading again and that is a good thing in my world!

My reading is dependent on my symptoms…usually I am a voracious reader but since I’m having some symptom exacerbation it’s more difficult to concentrate. So I’m watching documentaries on the idiot box.

I haven’t read a book which wasn’t for school in like a year. That makes small sections of 2 or 3 textbooks the only reading I’ve done in a while.

I used to read more, some steinbeck to escape to a different time and place and forget my current issues. Now I find it very hard to keep going once ive finished one page.

Try reading short stories. There are a lot of good science fiction collections of them and also older books that are in the public domain such as Chekhov.

A lot, actually, since I have to read for class. At least 60 pages a week, I would guess.

It used to be a rare day that I didn’t have a book in my hands, but I stopped reading for a long time. However, much to my delight, I have read four books in the past ten days. Granted, I’m not reading the book I really want to read- a history book about the 14th century- but it is better than nothing. I’ve been reading Christian romance novels and, slowly but surely, The Bipolar Disorder Survival Guide.

@Twang It’s not scifi, but have you ever read any of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s short stories? They are very thought provoking, but also entertaining.

Idk how many books I read a month but I like reading. I go to the library very often. I rarely read from cover to cover unless it’s a novel; that’s an exhausting way to read a book. I just pick things up here and there that catch my eyes.

We have to pay an annual fee to go to the library here. Our county is divided into townships and boroughs. Each township/borough doesn’t necessarily have a post office, so it’s mailing address may list another township/borough that does have a post office. Since my township doesn’t have a post office, we use a nearby borough for our mailing address. That borough charges anyone that doesn’t live in it a fee to use their library. It sucks. I don’t have a membership right now, but I need to get one.

That’s a shame. In my country we can use all services at the libraries totally free. There are many in my city.

We have just one nearby. It isn’t very big, either. I grew up in a large city in Texas, and there were several. They were all free. I miss the selection!

I love reading. My library is free. I always have one bo borrowed that i am keen on reading. But i end up prolonging it 3 times. I can read from cover to cover in 1.5 months due to not being in the mood or being too exhausted.

I love reading too. I can read whenever I have a free moment. Anywhere between about 10-120 pages a day depending on how much free time and how exciting the book is.

I don’t read my book very often, but I read a lot of internet articles daily. Well, most days. Sometimes I don’t have the concentration so I just read forums.

I read a lot but nothing in any whole matter… I’ve read one book since coming down with psychosis and it was alright. Not what my friends made it out to be. It was more categorically junk sci-fi even those the ideas did have a lot of depth and the grammar and flow was there.

I used to read a lot. I read the Gibson novels as well as Asimov’s foundation series. All Ender’s Game and the Shadow series. I thought the Shadow series had a lot more to connect to.

But yeah usually I’m only into as close to true to life science fiction.

It’s funny to really see the divide of appreciation that stems from people who favor creativity and ideation… they like the fictional and fantastic elements. They don’t need it to be grounded on realistic levels to be entertained. Where as I’m too literal to enjoy things I can entertain actually sitting next to me… fancy that though, out of them I’m the one with psychosis. Perhaps it was the brain trying to defend itself the whole time.
