How long have you been smoking? I have been smoking for about 11 years now.

I got very bad respiratory problems.

Since around 1991. Thirty years.

I started smoking when I was 13 back in 1991. I smoked for 17 years but quit in 2008 when I turned 30.

I have been smoke free for 13 years now.

Quit a couple of brief times, kept going back to it.
Finally quit for good in September 2013 (40 years old).

So, 26 years with a couple of breaks.
