How long are you on medication?

Hi there,

I am here to have some questions. I want to know if there is discrimination with medication use within my age group.

Are you on medication?
What medication are you using?
For how long?
What is your age?
Have you ever been forced medicated in your life and for how long?

About six feet even.

But seriously,
I’m on Seroquel and Risperidone.
I’ve been on Seroquel for about the last 2 years, Risperidone for about the last 20 years and before that I was on prolixen for about 20 years.
60 years old.
I first got put on medication in the psyche hospital. I didn’t want to take it but I took it anyways.

20 years and counting. Best thing I ever did for my mental health. Nothing forced but suggested and there’s some changes there for best fucntion but now…20 years later it’s all good.

Im 51. I was initially forced to take medication for about 3 months.

I’ve been taking Abilify for about 8 years now. It keeps me sane and out of hospital.

26 years, clozaril!

Been on it for over a year

30 y.o
olanzapine for about 2 years
I was on forced mediation for about 6 months.

30 years on meds
tried stelazine olanzsapine respiridone
i was unhappy with side effects
most common things put me in hospital non compliant med change not acceptable to me side effects or stress from not accepting my limitations
found something that made me very lethargic all the time but it’s either that or more trips to hospital
it’s a strong typical med clopixol
been on it for 16 years with no psychosis
i’m 47
only forced meds a sedative in the bum
made me sleep for 24 hrs
i’ve been married for 11 years
no longer obese
no longer psychotic periodically

Since 2016.

I used to suffer so much on medication.

I was a zombie.

And felt like falling on the pavement when I walked outside to the bus.

My legs were incredibly weak :’(

I’ve been on meds since I was 24. We’re 10 years later now.

I was on meds for four years, then off for five years, then now returned to taking meds and been on for nine years so far. I’m 37. Presently I take amisulpride, haloperidol, lamotrigine and citalopram .

How did you manage to live without meds
for so long?

They first put me on an MAO inhibitor and Trilafon when I was 27. Now I am nearly 63 years old. Trilafon is not in the same class, I don’t think, as the major tranquilizers - the typical antipsychotics. Trilafon did cut down on my physical endurance. I used to do 2,000 repetitions on the jump rope and run three miles every day. I could run five miles without thinking about it. The Trilafon cut me down to where I could barely run two miles. Then they put me on Moban, a typical antipsychotic. I hated it because it made me feel really bad. I got off those med’s later, and much of my physical strength returned. But once I got put on a typical antipsychotic it was hard for me to come off. I experienced intense anger doing that. I was in and out of the public psychiatric clinics for a while. Then I got put on Haldol. That really sucked. When I was on 40 mg of that a day I was in agony. They use Haldol to torture mental patients in Russia. Then they took me off the oral Haldol and gave me the timed released Haldol decoate shot. It wasn’t as bad as the 40 mg daily oral Haldol, but it still sucked. I was living at home and delivering pizza by way of an occupation, and almost every minute I wasn’t at my job I was laying in bed. That is the sickest and the weakest I have ever been. That period of my life was total misery. Then they put me on Prolixin for a while, and it wasn’t as bad as Haldol, but I still hated it. Then they put me on Geodon and Seroquel, and those drugs really worked out. They did weaken me physically, but they controlled my symptoms without deadening my mind. I’ve bee contented to stay on those drugs ever since.

About 42 years. I am 74. I take .5 haldol and 100 seroquel.

Antidepressants for 20 years on and off. APs, 4 or 5 years. I’m off them now.

Are you on medication? Yes. Only off for a month in 2010 because the “derivative” gamblers killed my job and I was laid off and the COBRA subsidy ran out and it would have cost me my entire unemployment check to pay the Health Insurance Premium every month. $800 to sit for 15 minutes with a nurse practioner once a month. Gosh!

What medication are you using? I don’t share drug recipes. Everyone’s biology is different slightly, what is “Treatment” to one person, might be “poison” to another.

For how long? 20 years.

What is your age? In Dog, Cat, Or Human Years? Each One Lost Along The, Takes A Little Piece Of Me With Them.

Have you ever been forced medicated in your life and for how long?
Yes. Continually. It makes it easier for them after a while when your body becomes dependent on them all the decades of â– â– â– â–  festering under a chemical restraint \ bandage also helps. The Sub Conscious is wOnDeRfUl!

I’m 31. Been taking meds since 2015. I’m on Invega Sustenna injections and Wellbutrin now. I used to be court ordered to take meds for six months from 2015 to 2016 when I was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric hospital
