Since I started naltrexone, no matter what I put in my body. Whether it’s zoloft, klonopin, abilify, coffee, *********, or freaking lsd for that matter. It all relaxes (or did relax) me.
Like earlier I was feeling really anxious so I chugged two cups of coffee. Totally felt better
Before the naltrexone I would have had a panic attack.
“Relaxing” certain areas of the brain, can lead to good health. Naltrexone does it for me.
I don’t know why I can’t find any research to support this.
Pretty much the opposite of an opiate !! Lol. But yeah I understand the confusion.
I got it prescribed for alcoholism. First it drastically cut down my drinking. Then after since I started zoloft. It combines with the naltrexone to reduce cravings even more. I’ve probably drank about 6 1/2 total beers in the total of 2 years I’ve been on both Zoloft and naltrexone.
But it’s had other effects. I’ve been really lucky.
My insight used to be The pits!!! For many years!!!
But quitting alcohol and taking meds has drastically improved my insight and moreso each day.
But In a (somewhat) unrelated note I don’t “feel” like an addict anymore either.
Like even when I started the naltrexone I was craving lsd, shrooms, ecstasy and dmt. Even last year I was. But over time, it’s transformed my thinking and I no longer think about any illegal drugs or alcohol much at all.
I don’t really consider myself an addict anymore. Even though I have the chemical makeup for it.
