How hard is college and university

I’ve been wondering for a long long time how hard university is and if I went back to school would e even make it through half a semester

I don’t know how hard it is these days.

30 years ago, I got to year 3 of a 4 year university course and had to drop out.

You need to be very disciplined. It’s like a full time job.

Honestly that surprises me from your posts i would imagine you are very smart irl your always showing scientific research did something happen like did you get symptoms around the time you dropped out

I wasn’t disciplined enough and I hated my course. I picked the wrong course (engineering). Those would be the 2 main reasons I think.

I was only a B student at mathematics and I really needed to be an A student in mathematics to have survived that course!

It’s tough depending on your skillset and interests against what you’ve chosen.

When I studied physics the first time, I dropped out after passing year one.
When I studied mathematics, I dropped out midway through the year because there was no way to catch up with all the content I had missed due to working.
When I completed my Economics degree, I passed very comfortably but then ended up in hospital for the last semester and they didn’t want to mark my submissions so I left with a lower score - regardless of the score - I was stressed out beyond belief (I was also working).
Then the last attempt at university, I tried physics again, but dropped out because I wasn’t interested in Number Theory (General Relativity doesn’t require knowledge of numbers all that much)

I’m considering doing a Natural Science degree (heavily choosing physics/chem and geology modules) - thankfully, because I don’t have a full “honours degree”, I’m allowed to try again and will be funded via student loans.

I agree with others, you need. a lot of discipline, if you don’t have that. then you’ll struggle - regardless of the subject; especially with schizophrenia hindering your progress.

With all the above being said, I think you should always try. You don’t know, if you don’t try

I have no skillset yeah I’m not smart that’s my only problem keep in mind if you see this remember your smarter than me

I’m a ■■■■■■■ idiot I wish I was smart

Sorry I set myself off I don’t like myself I’ve accomplished nothing and am stupid

I’ve went to college twice and dropped out both times. Got student debt withing nothing to show for. My family probably thinks im a loser.

Your not a loser trust me also schizophrenia makes schooling and work harder than most people I remember being in high school hearing a ton of voices and trying to get through the first semester idk what the teacher was smoking but my science teacher gave me a 90% or something like that he knew I was struggling tho he was nice

Don’t be like that, you have an ability. It takes good teachers to bring it out to the open; it’s not a one way thing

The difference between the University of Pittsburgh and community college was huge for me. Pitt felt like I was an underdog trying to catch up with my classmates and cc was heaps more laid back.

I got a two year degree and none of it was easy. All my classes were hard work; I never had an easy class. My last three classes I completed were the hardest: English 2B, Geography and Math.

I think that so long as you have at least a high average level of intelligence, put in the effort, and don’t have significant executive functioning deficits - you have a good chance of getting a reasonably good degree.

It depends on University and depends on the professor, my brother is currently studying for his computer engineering degree. Half his professors think open book exams are the way to go. My unfortunate ass didn’t get no open book test In college.

If you can juggle five running chainsaws while learning to fly a Boeing 737 and recite Hamlet at the same time, you will probably enjoy university.

Oh, and there are cute females there you will want to date and they are way more complicated than what I said about attending university.

And that’s how I learned that condoms don’t protect you from all types of AIDS.
