Tl;dr it turns on certain genes and stimulates the formation of new neurons in the hippocampus (in mice anyway)

ECT also works for sz. I’ve been getting it for years and it helps the medicine work. Apparently it’s used for a lot of conditions. I know it’s also used for Parkinson’s.
