The only effect ECT had on me was a scar on the forehead.

No, wait. I got names mixed up. I tired tDCS, not ECT. So it was way milder. But the scar is real.
i think with tdcs if you dont have enough gel on those pads correctly you can get burned for sure.

at the research facility i go to for rtms, they also do MST which is magnetic seizure therapy. apparently it is more focused than ECT and prevents the memory loss component and faster recovery. It is still in research experimental phase.
I’ve heard just a poke from the wall socket can set off someone’s mental status.
