How effective are medications given alongside antipsychotics at preventing weight gain in people with schizophrenia?

“People with schizophrenia are twice as likely as the general population to be overweight, perhaps due to a poor diet and an inactive lifestyle.”

Isn’t it funny that they fail to mention that APs are the most likely cause of weight gain!

Blame the victim mentality of the scientists lol

Ive noticed with this illness, a lot of healthcare professionals assume we’re lazy.

I dont think it gets into their head, that our brains and bodies are quite literally not average to begin with

I had one suggest jogging to me to help lose weight. He had apparently not read my entire file, which was worrisome.

Ive got chronic fatigue on my files, they still suggest outrageously strenuous activities like i havent already tried numerous occasions

The haddest part is feeling like a failure because you know within yourself youre trying it over and over everytime you rebuild confidence. Be it running, weightlifting or any other physical activity
