@Gtx1990 I have a lot of motivation but my capabilities are limited.

Haha, having motivation is probably more important than capability. If you have capability but not motivation you cannot execute them, that’s my opinion though

I can sleep late at night but whether I sleep late or early I struggle to wake up in morning for sunrise prayers. Then after I pray I go to sleep and I struggle to get up for breakfast - usually get up 10am. Poor hubby has to wait that long for breakfast! I get up in nightdress and throw on a robe. Dress usually only at noon coffee break. I’m a slow starter!

And that’s ok. At least you’re getting ready each day. Trust me, there are days I don’t even get out of my night shirt and robe. I hate those days especially if someone comes to the door. I’m sorry you struggle in the morning though. Do you think it’s med related?

Yes. I think my meds have some influence on it. Don’t feel sleepy after I take them but I have no trouble with insomnia at all and struggle to wake up. And yes sometimes I also don’t bother to dress.

Normally it is very hard for me to wake up yeah…I feel so incredibly drowsy like I didn’t sleep at all even if I got plenty of sleep…weirdly when I was on geodon that stopped and I woke up feeling like I didn’t need to sleep anymore

Well I sleep very good sometimes and then hardly at all. I used to have a little ball of fur to wake me up many years ago. I would arise by the sound of a cat purring in my ear. I miss that cat but by Jove she was loud and talkative.

Your hubby still loves ya! If you can get a cat that’ll get u up

@Hadeda I guess you and I are in the same boat. Do you have sza? Do you struggle with depressed mood? I do a lot of the time and it makes it hard to get ready for the day. I honestly just don’t care, I don’t even care if I shower. Maybe it’s the negative symptoms of sz.

@sigarino that’s a good way to handle getting your meds on time. What happened to your alarm clock? My 16 year old son got mine.

@Anna that sucks that you have to deal with drowsiness. I wonder what about Geodon changed that for you. If you only could find that in a med that worked for you otherwise. Do you find that you are sensitive to med side effects more so than other people?

@ThePickinSkunk When are you gonna get a replacement for that purring alarm clock that you had? I would love to get a cat, but I’m allergic to the fur if I’m around it too much, plus I don’t like cat boxes.

I only sleep pill-sleep. When i wake up my head is not working. I dont instantly remember what i did the night before. Abit of memory loss.

i dont have an alarm clock i just use my phone but when i ran out of meds i feel like i dont need an alarm to remind me to take nothing in the morning and i can just sleep in longer without it

Oh I’m sorry to hear that. Yeah I think that happens to a lot of people who take sleeping pills. Does your memory come back when you wake up?

When i wake up i try to remember last night and i cant. When i sit down and relax it suddenly hits me and i remember.

I’m a sleeper, someone could smash my door open to rob me and I would wake up look and then fall back to sleep :sob::open_mouth::grinning:

I often joke that I’ll sleep through the rapture

Well I’m not sure. I think I’m just gonna download a purring ringtone and then set it as an alarm at least then I can turn the alarm off. With meowzers not so easy. But thank you for asking and your nice reply.

Yes apparently I am very sensitive to med side effects. But I’ve found that also means I tend to be more sensitive to lower doses of meds, so even quite low doses of meds can start showing positive effects in me. Double edged sword…

That’s actually really good and a really good thing for you to know. I’ve been thinking that maybe I could try less of the aps that I’m on. Maybe next spring I’ll talk to my pdoc about trying a lower dose just to see what happens.

Usually during psychotic episodes they will have you on a very high dose to stabilize you again and then a good doctor will help you slowly wean to a lower dose because the ultimate goal is to have a person stable on the lowest possible dose so they have less side effects.
