How can I wake up early?

I’m on 3 meds

Clozapine 200mg
Paroxetine 37.5mg CR
Clobazam 10mg

My meds sedate me so much that i cant even leave the bed. Plus i ignore the alarm due to sedation. I wake up at 1-2pm. Atleast I want to wake up at 9am if possible

What strategies do u guys use to wake up early on meds ?

I pay my cat a 1/2 can of cat food every morning to be my alarm clock lol

If you are on those meds maybe sleeping more is something your body wants to do naturally.

I was up early today, not sure why

you may want to take your meds in the morning, with coffee and breakfast, but not sure

Thats sweet. I miss my Percy :frowning:

That’s really similar to my sleep schedule. I wake up an hour or two past noon but always set my alarm for 9:00am. I take 20mg olanzapine and 1000mg depakote.

What time do you usually fall asleep? I usually go to bed around 1:00am. I work late so I don’t get home til about midnight.

I also have problems waking up in the morning on Clozapine !!

Wow. I would LOVE to sleep so much! I’m getting about 3 hours a night on Abilify and, I’ll be honest with you, there’s not a whole lot to do at 3 am every morning. I wish I could pass more time sleeping.

Go to bed at 9pm every night.

I think this is the solution. Ive been sleeping at 12-2am. Sleeping early by 9pm may fix the problem

Go to bed earlier and you will wake up earlier. I go to bed by 930 every night and I am up by 630 or 7. Occasionally I will sleep until 8 am on the weekend. That’s sleeping in

Take your meds early, like 5-6pm. I had a hard time waking up in morning when I was taking resperidone. But I’ve switched to invega injections and I’ve been waking up really early now. Without drowsiness.

I’m on 500mg clozapine and I find it almost impossible to get up before noon. I so badly want that to change. By Sept I need to get into the school routine. Up at 7:30am. In bed by 10pm.

I leave an alarm just far enough away that I can still hear it, but I have to get up to turn it off.
As soon as I’ve turned it off I get dressed, go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. That always helps wake me up.
Then I take my meds and make sure I drink plenty

I set multiple alarms 5 mins apart and put my phone across the room. It works most of the time, the harder part is not getting back into bed once you get up. My go to is to brush my teeth right when i wake up and let the alarm just play.

It’s really hard. I have this same problem. Go to bed early, very early if you have to, and resolve before you go to sleep that you WILL wake up early. This psychological tactic actually causes your body to wake up naturally at the time you want it to. If you do this, you will be able to get up with your alarm. Getting up early is actually key for me for so many other positive benefits in my daily life.

Try to not sleep whole day and other day sleep at 8pm or something. İts always work.

I’m on 12.5mg Olanzapine, that’s not a high dose and I can’t get up early too. I sleep until noon on most days.
