I have a big hair problem. I let my hair grow this past year and I love it. But my hair is very fine so it looks too ‘flat’ around my face.
I tried a few products, recently I bought root lifting mousse but it seems I don’t know how to fix the problem.
I need some training to be able to style my hair professionally for pictures. I am watching youtube videos but it seems not to work for me as seen in video? My hair is very fine.
If I save some money, I would consider taking a short training course.
wow, you lead a higher quality life than I do. You must look pretty stylish most of the time. I only go to hairdressers regularly to have a simple cut. No mousses, no blows.
I started a beauty blog recently and I am a makeup artist so I am writing beauty tutorials but in order for a picture to look good, I really need nice hair. I need to figure out how to fix this.
I like to twist my hair in a style like a baby victory roll.
Step 1: Part it in the middle
step 2: Starting at the top of the hairstyle twist the hair and pull it to the back.
Step 3: Bobby pin in place
Step 4: Repeat on other side
Step 5: Bun or pony tail excess hair
Dry hair with head bent in such away that the top of it is upside down.
You may also use a brush type curling iron, (only if they do not damage your hair. )
caution: on fine hair, we would not want to do something like apply a large amount of heat if your scalp feels dry or hair feels brittle. That will encouage breakage. You will have to make some judgememt calls here.
If you intend on using a lot of heat, from a regular curling iron, then you may not want to use a lighter conditioner.
The last option is what most people do: a body perm.
A body perm is a permanent that doesnt really add much if any curl, but it will give it that fluffy look.
If your considering a body perm, and have never done any permanents at all, then consult a beautician first. You may have to use a good conditioner for ten days before your perm.
The conditioner would prevent damage to your hair.
From my experience, don’t go into debt taking a class that you won’t get anything out of. It seems that you could learn a lot from watching online videos or asking a professional stylist.
Perhaps a light perm for some wave or ooph.
I have the same type of hair. I’m keeping it long for the wedding. I had wanted a Lob the last time i got it cut because it would be flattering for my hair type. Now I’m thinking pixie when my hair starts to fall out, if it does from chemo.
You didn’t mention any curl pattern so I’ll put this one in just in case it’s fine with some texture. My hair is suuuuuuper curly so it has some natural volume but instead of around my face, it’s flat on top of my head. To make it even, I apply all of my normal hair product then I blow dry JUST the roots with a diffuser and let the ends dry on their own. Works pretty well but I suspect might not be 100% helpful with straight hair.
For straight or almost straight hair they make this powder that you sprinkle onto your head that gives you insane lift. I think L’Oréal and bedhead makes one. It’s worth a try. My mom who has slightly wavy, very fine hair uses it for date nights
I have super fine straight hair and I’ve never really found anything that works when my hair is long, so I keep it short, blow dry it upside down, and hairspray the crap out of it with a fine hair hairspray while upside down. Then pull each layer up and add more hairspray.
It’s a lot of work, though, and I have up doing my hair when I got sick and stopped working. Now they most I do is blow-dry it upside down and take pictures immediately if that’s why I dried it because it only adds volume for like 10 minutes.
Different lengths. No style or gel, just parted and combed. Bed head at home. Recently got it shaved super short, it was easier to take care of and looked batter. So I’ll probably just do that again.
Try a hair perm. I got a straight perm and just leave my hair down most of the time. Maybe try a curling perm. I’ve seen some really nice ones. Also a interesting hair dye like metallic tips. Get it done at a salon and it looks professional and lasts about a year.
