How do you keep a cat indoors

I have a dog now, my cat died…I miss him and dogs are a lot more work.

You could try an indoor climbing tree as cats like to be up high. Is your cat spayed @FatMama?

I agree. Not my fave neighbor

She isn’t but she has heart problems and they don’t know if she will live through surgery

Oh that is sad. No wonder she wants to get out - poor wee thing.

Not safe in town where I live. There are drivers who will actually try to hit cats crossing the street.

You can put her on a feline contraceptive that stops their heat cycle, this should stop her from wanting to go outdoors. Again, it is probably expensive though. All vet work is unfortunately.

My daughters boyfriends dad is a vet but they broke up so I guess that door is shut

Cats entertain themselves very well but if indoors need some help. Scratch toys food, master, window sills, music, plants, people, another animal, amouse to play with- thats gets them excited. My cat used to hunt all the time- very interesting…

My cat and dog love playing but she sees the dog going out all the time and that I think is making her very curious. I need to get more toys for her.

Yeah, my mom told me about people who do that. Fortunately, it seems like everyone around here has pets and/or children who love animals, so it’s no big deal here.

Do you have a gazebo or screened in porch? Also you could get a big dog carrier and put her in that outside. I’m not very cat wise but just my two pence.

What does animal control do when your neighbor calls? If they don’t do anything I’d just leave it alone. Let the cat out. That cat can’t hurt her yard. I’d understand her angst if you had a big dog that left a big turd in her yard.

I think those are good ideas

We never let our 5 cats out because we love them.
One neighbor told me she killed 3 of my outside ferral cats and two of my oppossums- (like I actually owned any of them?)and to mot feed anymore.
The other neighbor told me he took 2 cats and one kitten out to the country and let them go. Dickheads.

My newest cat refuses to go out, probably because I found her in the street on a busy truck route- where someone had tossed her out- at 4 weeks old.

Hard to understand how folks can be this cruel.
