Intuition and false assumption are incorrect methods to trust. fact-based evidence is the way to go especially when dealing with science.

With me, they can become muddled at times.

I view intuition as intelligence guided by experience. My experience with anything involving aliens is that I am mentally ill and prone to faulty reasoning on this subject, so I don’t take any action without running it past someone like a doctor, nurse, therapist, or my wife.

When it comes to things like photography, I have mad skills with a camera and a lot of experience. If my intuition tells me that I’m likely to get some good photos out of a particular situation, I’ll roll with it.

I would say experience is more relevant than intuition as experience means an experiment, procedure or method has gone through many trials with similar results.

Intuition is a problem in sz I get paranoid ideas through intuition like that guy is a poisoner, and actually act on it like go back to my house to prevent the poisoning. False assumption is putting it lightly. Intuitive suspicions are very misleading in sz

Intuition can be guided by past experience.

I’m under the impression that gut instincts are more accurate than assumptions. But I don’t know how to distinguish a gut instinct from an assumption.

When I’m psychotic my dreams get all wacky.

It’s a good indication to see if I’m doing well. Then my dreams are very down to earth.

I consider my dreams as part of my intuition.

It’s one of the things I do, to put a lot of weight on my dreams.

I feel I can only trust my intuition when i am medicated; otherwise i’m wary of it. I don’t know how to explain it, but intuition for me, is just feelings. This is why i’m starting to drift away from using my intuition becuase i don’t trust it as much as i used to but yeah, I guess, listen to your feelings and try your best at whatever goal you have and then reassess your feelings - that’s how i use intuition

I agree with this. @2Waynez post. Contextual understanding of your situation and application of CBT or similar is the approach I take so that i can weight out what is feelings and what is belief

My intuition tells me NOT to play the lottery.

Intuition is a knowing that some people are full of sh and staying away from them.

Very poor, both are one for me, as I have or never made much distinction.

Murky water here as people prone to delusions and paranoia.
But i think its best to guide yourself using logic and facts rather than your emotions. Emotions/feelings are deceptive and chaotic. And arent grounds for reality most of the time. Even for mentally stable people.
But thats just my unqualified addition to this thread. Dont listen to me haha. Especially since im having trouble chilling out today. I’m so full of anger for some reason. Which is really rare for me.

But to more properly answer your question. I think that usually we cant know until after the event or thing in question. But one way would be to learn from past results. Since we live in a reality that seems to have order to it.
