How do you deal with your shyness?

Hi, new user here. Just curious how some of you deal with your shyness?

Welcome to the forum. I was shy as a teenager but grew out of it. So I’m not sure what advice to give. Maybe one idea is not to meet others without having a friend with you. A wingman type of thing.

Despite how I come across here I’m shy and my dad used to make my calls to
Make appointments. It kind of subsided eventually. I think it was when I started working.

Oh WELCOME :grin::grin::grin::grin:

Hope you enjoy the forum.

I suffer, endure and avoid. Even with people I really love and like.

Socialising is difficult for me.
I feel attacked by many etc

I try to push myself, small steps at a time.
For an example, I can be really shy in school, especially when it comes to group assignments.
But today, even though my heart was racing, I pushed myself to ask someone to work with me.
… And they said yes! :smiley:
Give yourself small goals that lead to small victories, to get a positive experience.

Other than that, I wish I knew how to get completely rid of shyness, as I’m pretty shy myself.

Its very very difficult for me after psychosis. But it takes time to heal some of the stuff. So waiting and watching is how i deal.

Welcome to the forum.

It’s a matter of practice for me. My previous job was spent driving a fuel truck and working a lone mostly. Now I’m an insurance broker and I talk to people a LOT during the day, (which is draining). The more I do it, the better I get at it. I had to start small and work my way up.

That’s definitely catchy.
