Now I have come to grips with Reason 12 I am going to look at some other DAWs as they are all pretty similar, i reckon.

All my friends in music school that produce do it with Ableton… I just went for it. 3 months trial.

Today I will work a bit on mastering…

Fl 20 seems excellent to me so far and it is half the price of reason 12.

I think i jumped right in at the deep end with Reason 12! It is for fine intricacies from the get go. It isn’t any wonder I couldn’t grasp drum beats very well. I was able to go to 1/32 of a beat in a bar straight away.

I think reason 12 would be ideal for a more advanced techno maker like @Heigen5 but as a newbie into it all, I don’t really have a clue what I am doing.

Still, I managed to make a few tunes out of it, but it really was amateurish.

I found a grea tyoutuber for Fl 20. and he has some mastering and mixing tutorials too . Maybe you should check him out @dreamer54 :

I don´t have the intention to do so :stuck_out_tongue:

Are you working with FL right now?

Yes, I’m going through youtube tutorials.

It is so much easier than reason on the whole and more intuitive for me.

Too expensive for me.

How much will you pay for ableton?

I´m toying around with 3 months free

I guess I´ll start with the basic one and upgrade from there (with student discount)

Flo is with black friday sale £130 all in for studio version which is what i’m playing with now. It has loads of instruments, samples and stuff. lifetime updates for free.

Reason is £240 a year if you pay monthly.

No brainer really.

From what I read both DAW are top notch, both equivalent. I think the highest price for both DAWs are the same (around 700-800€?)
Edit: I mean ableton and FL

Here’s a dance track I made using samples that came with the software. I started the track years ago but finished it just now. I hope I can embed this correctly:

Damm I love it, it´s pretty experimental! Did you program the drums yourself?

More tunes please!

Much appreciated. Sadly I can’t claim to have made the samples including the drums, but I arranged them and did some cut and pasting with the voice track.
