Hollywood's big boom has gone bust

I feel sorry for those affected, but surely a few more of us turning off the TV and going outside more often is not a bad thing.

It’s probably not people going outside, but there is a glut of content on the market now, thousands of viewing hours that people need to catch up on before new crap is made.

I’d hate to bring a sort of victim shaming vibe to this but it’s one of those things that’s like, “Well it was never going to last anyway. What’d you expect?”.

I mean when so much of success culture is driven by “telling stories” of real life trauma or are reflections of serious issues or just general entertainment, and you sell people the idea that “financial success” is absolutely important… Or else!

It’s just an unsustainable divide and it has ultimately led to a crisis. They can’t keep shaming people for not getting the success the culture glorifies without seriously thinking it won’t be tolerated when that success is not only not guaranteed but a source of narcissism within the class system. And then of course you get shamed for that too in some places rather than supported.

I say this but feel some shame about it too. Because I do have a feeling of “Well? Too bad…”. Fair? I’m sure they feel the same too in regards to failure. It leads to people sacrificing their health sometimes and emotional needs and can become a source of serious mental distress.

Steven Spielberg once said the streaming platforms threw Hollywood under the bus. Shucks!

Not to be political but there are people starving, dying, homeless, and sick yet Sir Spielberg is worried about the legacy of Hollywood.

Wtf?

Nope. 1212121212

Idk. I believe people should get paid based on streams like they did with tv residuals. The internet and social media really is to good and affected everything.

I think people’ lost interest as there is surplus of movies plus easily available in ott platform.

I’m glad. It’s what Hollyweird deserves.

I hope some other countries take over the film industry and set a new standard.
