I’m going to Kerala for 31 days in December. First proper holiday I’ve been away on since 2009, that was India so I am familiar with going to India. I’m a bit apprehensive. I had to work my way up to going, Its been 2 years since I’ve been sectioned and I had to have a big meeting with my care team before they decided I could go, they have put many safeguards in place in anything goes wrong, plus my travel insurance is mega expensive.

I was in Thailand a year ago… Skipped all the cities and headed straight to the island, Koh Phangan, there I found the most secluded beach I could find and spent my days there…
It was pretty cool… … Good food… Nice beaches and beautiful people…

That’s good, I hope you enjoy your vacation. I’d like to visit India too one day, and Nepal birthplace of the Buddha.

I would like to visa Nepal again but since some of my delusions resolved around spiritualness and the Buddha I don’t think that would pass with my care team. I did visit Nepal in Decmeber/January 2007 and although it was cold and cloudy when you got outside Kathmandu and into the valleys with the panoramic view of the Himalayas around you its very breath taking although you could only see the peaks, it was still cool.

Me in Nepal

It looks amazing, maybe one day I’ll see it with my own eyes.

The flights are the biggest expense, when you get to India and Nepal (especially Nepal) is very cheap if your on a budget. I would recommend flying to Delhi and spending a a couple of days there, go the the Red Fort, then to Agra and see the Taj Mahal. Fly from Delhi to Kathmandu in Nepal and spend a couple of weeks travelling around Nepal, Pokhara is very nice. Your biggest expense will be the flights and maybe insurance?
