Hiking season

we may go for a hike Saturday if the rain holds off. was just emailing with my buddy and he was wanting to do something. I suggested a hike.

haven’t been out yet this year. I would say it’s the perfect time to go, but in the spring the trails are often muddy. temperature wise it’s perfect, 60-70 degrees.

I like to hike at least 5 miles when I hike, a couple hours is best. around here it’s kind of a drive to get to a good hiking location, like 30 minutes to an hour in any direction really. sometimes I wish I lived in the smokies and had a trail house, somewhere close to town where I could get around on foot weather permitting.

Cool. Have fun. Be sure to seal your boots if you go.

Here the temp was +14F this morning but it’s warming to above freezing during the day…for us that’s the call to start taking walks to get our hiking muscles prepared. Hopefully the snow will melt away soon and a good hike sounds fun! Enjoy yourself and be safe.

My son Logan and me are going hiking this Sunday. We do about 3 to 4 hours and then go and eat late lunch or early dinner.

Yes I have had plenty when I was in the military. Logan hasn’t tried them yet but I have some for next month when we are going camping. He also likes fishing so we might be able to too do some campfire cooking also.

I like a temperate climate. Only thing stops me walking is rain!

Stuff the rain!

no I live in Indiana. thought about moving to Tennessee when I was younger. my aunt lives in the smokies and we visit like once a year and go hiking.

here I have to drive to a state park or something to go hiking.

I have not gone hiking for the past 20 years, when I lived in America I went hiking often to Stone Mountain, Georgia with my former US spouse.

I’ll be looking to do some hiking soon, as well. I go with my dad, who is an avid birder – it’s fun looking for birds out in the remote state parks. The warblers are very pretty, they usually come around in May-June
