@Ooorgle - I saw that you created a post back in February, asking if anyone knew what certain missing forum peeps were up to. And I saw you tagged me. I feel special.
Just wanted to let you all know I’m still trekking on. I’m actually coming out of another fibromyalgia flare-up (just started feeling better yesterday - hooray!). I also have gone through a few different APs over the last little while; some of them were re-tries. The first AP I ever took was Latuda, about 5 years ago… well, now I’m back on Latuda, lol. But it seems to be helping, so that’s good.
The company that I have worked at for 5 years now, just got acquired by another company. I worked full-time for the first 3 years of employment and then went part-time for the last 2 years. I am very nervous about the new ownership / HR team and whatnot not being understanding of me being disabled (type 1 diabetes, asthma, fibromyalgia, and schizoaffective disorder). My boss and current HR don’t know about ALL of my health issues, but my boss is caring and understanding. HR is… kinda rude and tries to fight me when I say I need accommodations. That being said, my current place of employment is by far the best place I have ever worked, being disabled. My boss is the best. I just worry that things will change. While not legal in the US, employers discriminate based on disability (and other things) all the damn time.
My older sister (30 y/o) was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few months back, but the doctors did surgery to remove the cancer (or so they thought). She went to the hospital on Tuesday night because she couldn’t feel her hands. Well, turns out she has a big tumor on her C4, in her neck/spine. She is having surgery today to remove the tumor. It’s expected to be a 4 hour surgery. On top of that, she was born with pulmonary atresia (heart defect) that a cardiologist did emergency surgery to “fix” as much as he could, right after she was born. She’s had many open heart surgeries since then, over the years. Anyway, the cardiologist who performed all of those surgeries from the day she born up until now… he is going to be present for the surgery, to make sure nothing happens with her heart or any complications like that during the surgery.
I am hoping that everything goes well. Please pray for her or keep her in your thoughts. Anything you can do to “help the good luck” I guess.
Whelp, that’s all that’s going on with me. Lots going on… But I’m OK. Thanks for reading. Hope you’re all doing good or at least OK and getting by.
