Here’s why coffee maybe making you tired

I’ve taken time to learn about coffee over the last 10 years, and I found out why it was making me tired.

I found out there are two main types of coffee, arabica & robusta. Mostly all cafe shops sell arabica.

I find that arabica was more calming but makes me tired and the more I have the more exhausted I’d be, so that I’d have to sleep it off.

Robusta on the other hand perks me up and gives me energy. Robusta has more caffeine than arabica, and robusta have a more plain coffee taste, whereas arabica has a chocolate kinda nutty taste.

NES café original is robusta, but their gold blend is arabica and robusta mixed.

Kenco is arabica so I only have one now and then.

I used to drink real ground Columbian arabica coffee for over tens years, man it was a ride, but it had to stop.

I’m now way more into robusta but have the odd arabica.

Another reason coffee could be making you tired is because you don’t add sugar to your coffee.

Coffee is one of the highest foods containing potassium, and you need sugar to balance potassium. Like an apple or banana, yea they’re loaded with sugar but you need that much sugar to balance out the potassium or you will be tired.

I don’t do well with white sugar so I switched to brown sugar and it’s changed my life.

I add brown sugar to equal amounts of robusta coffee, normally nes café original, and yea I’m not exhausted ever, lots of good energy.

There’s also research on how good brown sugar is for gut health, and combined with coffee it’s delicious, way better than white sugar.

So that’s what I learned. Balance out potassium and glucose/sugar, and switching from arabica to robusta coffee, really interesting.

Billingtons brown sugar is the best, you wanna get this brown sugar in the picture below

Caffeine can make you feel sleepy for a number of reasons, including:

  • Adenosine buildup

Caffeine blocks adenosine receptors in the brain, which prevents adenosine from making you feel sleepy. However, your body continues to produce adenosine, so when the caffeine wears off, you’ll experience a buildup of adenosine that can make you feel tired.

  • Blood sugar

Caffeine can cause blood sugar spikes or lead to low blood sugar, which can make you feel tired.

  • Sugar

Coffee often contains sugar, which can make you feel drowsy. The sugar content in coffee can vary, and drinking coffee with a sugary snack or drink can increase the risk of a sugar crash.

  • Tolerance

If you drink coffee every day, you may develop a tolerance to caffeine’s stimulant effects. This means you’ll need to drink more coffee to get the same effect.

If you’re feeling tired after drinking coffee, you can try: Consuming less caffeine, Taking a nap, Getting some exercise, and Getting some exposure to natural light.
