I’ve found that omega 3 fish oil has helped with some of the negative symptoms.

I have friend that used to drink 8+ cups of coffee a day, which gave them caffeine intoxication, have a look at the DSM-5!

I also have another fiend that has a energy drink as soon as she wakes up to give her “a edge”!

Personally I’d stick to fish oil and trying to get out and about each day into town even to have a milkshake or something! It’s very rare that I don’t go out!

Hi my dear friend; firstly I think you should become aware that these are negative symptoms from schizophrenia; maybe it can be useful that you check out next link which has information about symptoms of schizophrenia: Schizophrenia Symptoms.

In my case, I take an anti-depressant called Pristiq (Desvenlafaxine) which has been very useful for my low motivation; others partenrs from this forum take Wellbutrin (Bupropion) so they said their low motivation has improved.

Why do you talk with you pdoctor? Maybe he can help you.
Tolteca.

Thank u tommiez.
I will have to try omega 3 fish oil and try eating more fish too.
My partner also drinks lots of coffee and so do i sometimes but it is best not to get addicted to it! x

only thing that came to mind is prompts

but even that doesn’t work sometimes

i would say ‘just do what you can’

little by little and hopefully you will get to where you are going or do what you want to do,

but yeah, maybe talk to you nurse or doc about it as they might be able to help get you involved in something that could help.

I will read the symptoms you sent me. I take aripiprazole as my anti-phycotic and sertarine as my anti depressiant. I will be researching what meds i can take as an alternative maybe aswel

Thanks daydreamer
I am slowly getting to where i want to be but still have days with low motivation and numbness.
Thanks for your advice

I wonder often if it’s some kind of hybrid of avoidance personalty. In both cases just doing more things seems to be the way to combat it.

It’s like going up a very steep mountain but eventually you come down that hill and things get easier and faster.

A lot harder then it sounds as most of us know by hand. But the longest journey starts with but a single step.

I agree Dreamscape by doing more things it can get easier.
I have been get involved in more things recently but have now come down with flu. When i get better i will continue to do things again though.

Hmm when I get minimal motivation it’s usually because I lose sight of the future. It happens when I don’t have any goals or plans. Make yourself future goals, things to work towards I guess. If you don’t give yourself a reason to live, you won’t be very motivated to do it.

There is a lot of way to help with negative symptoms

I would recommend this, you need to get on a suitable medication which kills off most of your positive symotoms…this would be a important steps

Then the second step is to try to live a low stress life, because unwanted unhealthy stress cause mental problem, which include psychosis and depression…stress is good, but you need good stress or little stress to live at best

These two works for me,at least for now…and I believe it will work for as long as I can live…another thing I want you to note is I used to think I had a lot of negative symptoms, and was troubled by this thinking for 3 years…after I got on Mirtazapine,my “negative symptoms” is gone…now I realised that I actually did not have negative symptoms…it’s depression. If you tell me this three years ago I would not have believe you…but now that I am in remission from depression,I know it’s depression and not negative symptoms

Get on a suitable medication, build and work for your life and remain stress free or at least try reducing your stress, good luck

well from one jayney to another my lovely, you just have to force yourself. that’s what i do. sometimes it works sometime my discipline slides and i do nothing but surf the web. the other day i spent baking, cooking and cleaning, whereas yesterday i only took my son to school and spent the rest of the time running errands…no housework was achieved apart from loading and unloading the dishwasher and cleaning and tidying the kitchen. sometimes i stay up for 24 hours cleaning and tidying, other times my house looks like a bomb site for days on end. with two kids and a part time live in boyfriend (daughter’s) the washing never ends. the machine is on two times a day most days and then the drier. my toilet is a mass of washed clothes waiting to be ironed or put away. every couple of weeks i tackle that mountain and it’s clear again but it takes me a while to force myself to do it. you’ll get there…just giove yourself a mental kick up the rear end
