Yeah I have a lack of motivation to do anything. There called negative symptoms Wich are a symptom of schizophrenia.

idk bro you sound hopeless to me man. good luck.

Honestly I just try to start with something small and simple like getting out of bed and changing clothes

I got no Motivation anymore

Sometimes I use stickk.com, or seek out other forms of extrinsic motivation. Sometimes I seem to artificially increase my intrinsic motivation by drinking some coffee; but I currently try to take at least 3 days in a row off of coffee in a seven day period so that I hopefully don’t become desensitized to it.

I lay around until I feel like doing something.

What really helps me is getting out the house. Getting something nice to eat or a coffee with cake and spending some time just sitting in the sunshine in public. When I get home Im normally tired but I often suddenly feel like I want to do more things again and not just vegetate.

I get used to not getting out of the house, so now i stay at home and I’ve found things to do with my PC.

Motivation comes when things get so bad I have to act. Like showering, getting brake signal fixed, eating.

Oddly enough, I take vitamins. I had no idea b vitamins would immediately help my mood and motivation. If I did I would’ve taken them long ago. They make me feel calm and give me energy. Both those are enough to push me to want to find productive things to do.

Did Vraylar help your negative symptoms?

Somewhat, but not overwhelmingly. It makes you think clearer and takes away delusions. From there you have to do the work of motivating yourself and working on boosting your emotions. It takes away out of control emotions, it doesn’t take away flat effect. For that I had to find a purpose to live and stick with it. Without Vraylar I wouldn’t be able to do most of the things I love, but it’s only a bandaid. You have to do a lot of the work as far as self discipline, motivation, determination and will to exist are concerned. It does nothing for cognitive symptoms, but b vitamins and exercise are great for those. I’ve had some rough lessons as far as taking care of myself is concerned and have learned you are the are one who can make your dreams come true. I wallowed in sadness for a long time, Vraylar didn’t take self pity away. I had to learn to do something if I wanted it done. That’s what improved my negative symptoms: honest life experience. I had to kick my own ass to get what I want done. In summary, it helps a little, but don’t expect much. Your willpower is far more helpful.
