Help me look Southern wedding ready!

Got that wedding coming up in a month. I would like opinions on my outfit. First, my SIL said casual, but I don’t have it in me to wear shorts to a wedding (yep, she mentioned shorts). So, my daughter got a blue eyelet lace summery dress, and I’m working on mine. I bought this one from Torrid and thought maybe these shoes? I don’t want stickers or dirt in my shoes, and I want some traction. Probably French braided hair. Little stud earrings, silver necklace, silver bracelet.

Thoughts, ideas, and/or suggestions are very welcome! Note: wedding is outside.
Note: I’m gonna melt faster than Frosty the Snowman, so I’m trying to walk a bit everyday.

I think this looks great.

HOWEVER,

I have that same exact dress in Navy.

It is not as flattering as advertised.

I’d get it well in advance to make sure you like it.

It’s a cute dress. But since @Charles_Foster said it’s not flattering, maybe get something else as well do you can try on both and only keep what you like best

Look,

The problem with the dress is this:

The top part that is scrunchy doesn’t stay down around your waist,

It creeps up to under your boobs and looks like a maternity dress after about ten seconds.

If you have ANY belly, it’s unflattering.

I have ordered it in two sizes, and both look great, tbh. It evens out my boobs and hips. I’ll ask for sister’s opinion on full pic of me wearing it.

I want it in blue!!!

Good!

I’m glad it’s flattering on you!

Damn. I tried it on, and it looked great. BUT I didn’t walk around in it. Farts.

Yeah,

I wore it all day thinking I looked cute before I noticed it creeping up.

A belt would be a good solution and pretty.

I’ll help you elope - I can’t morally justify recommending an actual wedding to anyone.

You are a laugh a minute, SIr.

Dead serious. The only reason I tolerated my wedding is that it was important to my wife for some unfathomable reason. It was hellish for me. Take the money you are wasting on this and invest it in property.

I think the shoes and dress are such a cute combo! You’ll look country chic!

It’s not my wedding. It’s my sister in-law’s. My wedding was 21 years ago as of May 18th. It was a church wedding, but it was… odd? And we spent under $500 on everything, including my dress. Church and preacher were free cause hubby and I were living together.

Yep. Did my own hair, made my own veil. I was artsy as heck.

Okay… two more dresses. I always liked faux wrap arounds (not full wraps; there was an issue once, and I don’t want to discuss it. :zipper_mouth_face:). I’ve already ordered them so that I can try them on. Maybe one for the rehearsal dinner and one for the wedding? Both would go with black shoes. I could wear these cute little pearls I have with the black and white dress.

The polka dots are super cute!

That’s my favorite one, too. I hadn’t purchased shoes yet, but I do have black sandals. I’ll just change up jewelry. Hair still in a French braid, I think.
