Help, I have been trying to get my clinic to pay attention to the fact I've been out of antipsychotics since Saturday

My P-Doc apparently neglected to fax a prescription for my anti-psychotic (rexulti) or an increased dosage script for my anti-anxiety (buspirone). I have been out since Sunday morning and trying to do something about it since Monday morning. I mean, relentless, ( though polite and coherent) calls. No one is getting back to me. I have also been working in the behavioral health field, as peer support and as a behavioral health technician for over 10 years. I hear the gallows humour and apathy on a daily basis. I am currently working at Arizona State Mental Hospital and am dreading going back to work on Friday much more than usual.if nothing else, kind words would be appreciated, as I’m pretty much alone.

I’m sorry you’re getting the run around.

Have you been to your pdoc’s office regarding this matter?

can you go into a pharmacy and explain and ask for a couple?
they sometimes will front you a few pills when things like this happen,
under certain circumstances anyway.

they’ve done it for me before!

Try kratom for anxiety or CBD oil… The kratom works great for me, but i havnt found CBD oil usefull. You have to get theO.P.M concencentrated capsules. They come in 2 pks , 3 pks, 5 pks. It might be a good substitute for anxiety meds. You can buy it at your local headshop, call first to make sure they have that kind. Just a thought.

Call your pdoc and ask for refills on your scripts. Talk to the secretary at you pdocs office and explain your situation. Tell her/him that you are out of meds and it’s an emergency.

Aya, can you ask the pharmacist/pharm tech to give you a few days worth? I’ve done that a couple of times and they’ve been able to help.

Thank you so much for all of your kind and helpful suggestions. I have tried all of them and filed a grievance about the clinic with the RHBA. So far nothing. If I were an insulin dependent diabetic, I wonder if they would be this cavalier. What’s really got me scared now, is I seem to have started losing time. I take my son’s girlfriend to work and I knew she had to be there at 4 and I had to pick my son up from work at 7. The last thing I remember is talking to the clinic and posting this. The next thing I knew it was 7 and time to pick up my son. I got a text from his girlfriend asking me to bring her home at 7:30.I was confused as to how she had gotten to work because all I remembered was falling asleep around 3 or 3:30.When I picked her up she told me I had driven her to work but the whole time I was talking gibberish. It seems I drove fine at least. I don’t take ambien or any sleep drugs and I hadn’t been drinking or smoking cannabis so this is really scaring me.

Thank you for responding so nicely. My pdoc has moved to another state and is teleconferencing which probably is responsible for some of the confusion. I have an appointment with a new one but it won’t be until the end of this month.

This sounds like bloody malpractice. Please go to a pharmacist and ask for meds, they should be able to front you some if you tell them your story. Or go to the hospital and do this.

Hope you can get some meds ASAP @nina56.
That sucks that they are dragging their feet on this.
Hope you feel better soon.
