I started a research trial recently and I come into a center for evaluations. One thing I haven’t had happen in awhile is that I hear people talking about me/mocking me through the walls. It occurs when I’m in a conversation with the researcher and when I stall to think. We switched rooms and it wasn’t so severe after that. The researcher hears the same voices but doesn’t comment that they’re talking about us. I feel like I did something wrong and someone is upset with me. For instance, I get social anxiety because I have overdeveloped peripheral vision. People maybe think they’re making me anxious? Does anyone misinterpret people talking about them?

I think misinterpreting “noise” is common with SZ. I hear things in the noise of my air conditioner. I don’t think it’s talking about me on meds though.

Yeah I’m on meds (reduced dose though) but still thought they were commenting on me. I know you said you thought you have SPD. I did a lot of research into Schizoid PD and could relate to it. With that condition do people ever poke fun at you?
If I hear the voices talking about me again should I check the rooms and confront the person?
