Having to take the dog to a vet 2 hours away

I noticed a few weeks ago her eye was a strange colour. And she has not been herself. Anyway about a week ago she started not being able to open it.

I’ve had her to the local vet twice and tried eyedrops but it’s not worked.

We are on our way now to see a specialist in eyes.

I have a feeling she has already lost sight in the eye.

Honestly I could cry for her.

Sending supportive sentiments. I would cry too. I hope the vet can help and that your dog is healthy

I hope They can save her sight.

2 hours is far. If you drive 2 hours here, you are abroad

Poor baby :frowning: My dog lost an eye because of infection before I adopted him. He does fine with one eye. Hopefully knowing that helps

Thanks guys. It turns out she has an ulcer in the one eye. And also she doesn’t produce enough tears to stop her eyes in general getting scratched.

Got pain relief for her. Antibiotic drops. And also a long term treatment drops for her to help her produce more tears.

£330 (which I’ll claim on her insurance) later she is home. She has to go back next week to see if it’s improved.

My little baby.

There will be no more dogs after this.

I always feel like no dog could be better than my dog. I love him so much. I can see why you say it’s your last dog. You love them so much and it’s so stressful and awful when your fur baby is suffering. Hang in there. Your baby had his meds at least.
