Having problems online =(

My work is constantly stolen and I can easily sue some certain people online. I would never.
I am just tired and want to figure out a way to protect my work.

USA has DMCA copyright which is a small fee I think. per artwork.
Not sure about Canada?

Anybody has advice for me? I don’t wanna disclose the works here but it is just a freakin tracing over my design which I completely came up with =(

Paging @Mountainman @PatrickT @shutterbug

Can you put a watermark over it?

There are copyright laws in Canada

Look up “Notice and Notice” copyright infringement system. That’s Canada’s version but it doesn’t sound as effective as a DMCA complaint. Might work though.

Think the Obama poster for change. One guys artwork just shaded with different colors and there was no copyright infringement. Not sure there’s much you can do but try to get the credit you deserve

yeah I have the original documents which are backed up on my Hard disk since the time of creation. so I have no fear whatsoever of proving myself. I have watermark on all my designs but for example

I did a design of a woman’s eyes winking (it is a wink drawing)
and another designer - made a similar version but had the other eye winking. =(

Then a pink butterfly I completely came up with is traced by some weirdo and the funny thing is she even used the same font I have.

This is my job, I sell these stuff. My creations so credit is not what I need, I need to stop people from stealing.

I had the same problems with some of my music with people stealing my music too.

Here’s the gov site

You’d have to read about it. I’ve never used it before.

@SpecialK

Sometimes us Sz types connect random dots that shouldn’t really be connected. Perhaps this is just happenstance? Perhaps you are subconsciously looking for similarities in your work and others?

Not saying I don’t believe you. You’ve always had a good head on your shoulders. Just throwing out the idea that you may be ‘projecting’ a little bit.

Could you post an example of your work, and then of someone else who you think has copied you…so we could all take a look and give our opinions?

Lol i am pretty sane. This is pretty common in graphic design. I posted it on FB and my friend couldnt tell the designs apart.

Yea this copycat stuff happens in every industry, when I was self employed people would copy how and what I did because I was one of the top dogs but it didn’t matter because I would still out smart them.

Its a copycat world online.
