Having problems is with Medicare

I enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan at 3:41pm on 10/19/2020. I couldn’t verify if the lab my doctor uses was in-network, so I then enrolled in a prescription drug plan at 7:56pm the day day. Both applications were with the same company.

I then found out the price this company would charge for my Abilify is excessive. So on 10/24/2020 I applied with another company for a prescription drug plan where the price is reasonable, and I was approved.

My problem is when I called the first company up to cancel my applications, I was given a runaround, and finally was told to mail them a written letter requesting cancellation. I did this and even gave them the confirmation numbers I got with each application.

Today I called the first company up to verify they cancelled my applications. I got a runaround again, and was asked what my member ID was from my insurance card. I finally just hung up on them.

Now I’m worried that the bad company is going to process my applications and cancel my enrollment in the company I want from 10/24/2020.

Do any of you have any experience with this, and should I be concerned?

Keep calling. Don’t hang up on them. Make sure they cancel it so you can get your preferred plan

I just tried calling the phone number from my Medicare & You book for 2021, where they list the phone number of each company. The number is different from the one I got from the website. At this number they asked me for the confirmation numbers of the two policies and said they would take care of cancelling them. They hadn’t been cancelled yet.
