I’m kind of contradicting myself. I told supercoolTM maybe you need to adjust your goals. And then I said I had dreams on wallafishes thread. I guess the next question is. Is it possible to adjust your goals? Also I waited until I knew I couldn’t achieve my dreams and then I let it go.
I think it is lovely to have good dreams and goals.
Maybe you can start small and build .
To be realistic knowing oneself too.
I had a goal to finish my aged care certificate and I did but it took two years and I can not work with it because of my symptoms.
This year I have a goal to improve myself inside and out.
Also to do good and be good.
Also to become more independent with my driving.
I can only drive to two towns by myself and I want to be able to drive to a smaller town and then to s big city.
I have been told I am slow to respond which makes me a less good driver and I am afraid of getting lost.
I need someone to sit as my passenger directing me and after haven done this several times I might be able to do it by myself.
But no one here wants to do that with/for me.
Maybe when some women visit they can be my passengers.
I am dependent on my boyfriend to drive me places now.
I also have a goal to have better relationships with family and to not feel so aweful tormented around some of my bf friends.
A few more goals too.
They all sound like realistic goals:grinning:
I use Google Maps as my navigator. It is a free app on my smartphone and it is available 24/7. Google Maps gives step by step directions before I start driving. Then when I start driving, with the click of a button on the app, Google tells me where to go and when to go do it. Try the app to get to someplace you know how to get to so you can get comfortable with it. Then you can use it to help you get to places you’re not as sure about.
I started using sarcosine and it seems to help me with my response times. My reflexes in driving / avoiding obstacles seems a little quicker, which makes me feel more confident with my driving. Also, my parking ability (parking straight, in between the lines) has suddenly improved immensely.
My smiley face thing isn’t working. That’s why it says grinning.
Sorry reply to myself as a mistake. Again my thing isn’t working that shows smiley faces. That’s why it says grinning.
What is the difference between goals and dreams?
My goal is to learn to play the piano at performance level. Right now, I’m just at intermediate level. Which is a long way from performance level.
I can not use nav man.
It kept giving me wrong directions and confusing me.
I used to google map directions and then write the directions on paper and read the paper as I drive.
On top of that drive in advance before appointment or having to be there.
In cities I still think I need a passenger till I feel ready to attempt it myself.
Thank you for the advice.
Not knowing what tomorrow brings can be exciting.
But
Having a goal is better because it gives you a feeling of accomplishment when attained.
Well, there’s no law that says you can’t. People evolve. As you evolve things may be in reach now that were not practical or impossible when you were younger.
