Have you got many teeth left

I haven’t been to the dentist for years, because I never go out.
I didn’t go to the dentist as a child either because I had severe anxiety disorder, especially social and medical/dental/injection phobia. I had all my bad teeth removed when I was 23 under general anesthetic, I am 45 now.
Do any of you never go to the dentist.

I’ve known people who never went to the dentist . . .

I go for preventative maintenance. I get bright people with good hands and an education try to help me. What a trip!!

it depens if your from Arkansas or ?

My teeth are a mess. I haven’t been to the dentist for over a decade. @Simonw like you I am dental phobic. It doesn’t help that I have low pain threshold and they often don’t give enough anaesthetic. The last time I had a tooth extracted with a long root and developed dry rot. I was in agony for ages.

I had to have one tooth pulled. I was supposed to get a crown but there wasn’t enough tooth left to put one so they pulled it. I have all my other teeth.

I get free dental care from the VA and they clean my teeth every four months. So I go to the dentist a lot.

I go to my dentist regularly.
I have also lost 3 teeth from malnutrition, as a teenager. The spaces are in the back, though, so you can’t really see them.

I had a nasty reaction to the mercury that is found within the metallic amalgam tooth fillings.

It caused the collapse of my immune system. That caused candida yeast infection internally, and externally, which led to dead skin patches in my mouth, sinus cavities filled with candida yeast, Hypoglycemia, shingles, constantly recurring pink eye, skin rashes, and the list goes on and on.

So I stopped going to the dentist.

But I eventually ended up with severely impacted wisdom teeth. This caused head aches, cheek pain, jaw pain, neck pain, and ear aches. Thus many nerves were affected. But I went to see my GP even though I thought it was most likely caused by severely impacted wisdom teeth. He smiled and said that there was nothing wrong with me and that it was all in my head. So he was not a complete idiot since the teeth are actually located within the head.

I then hooked up with a university buddy of my brothers who became a good dentist. He took x-rays and then said " These are not severely impacted wisdom teeth.". He said, “These are TEXT BOOK CLASSICS.” meaning they were so bad that they related to the nasty worst case examples that you see in medical text books as worst case examples.

They were so bad that he said that they had to be removed at a hospital.

So one doctor said that I was a nutcase, but the x-rays, said otherwise.

Six months later, the same symptoms appeared. I thought that since my immune system was shot to hell, that I now had pus infections in the open flesh cavities where the wisdom teeth used to be located. So I went to see my GP about it.

When i got to his office, he was gone, due to an emergency call. So they sent me one floor down to see another doctor. I described to him the symptoms. Before even finishing, he said, “Stop…stop…What you are sir, is a Hypochondriac.”.

I asked him what that meant. He said that it means that there is nothing at all wrong with you and that you are just making it all up, it’s all in your head. So I set up an appointment with the hospital oral surgeon.

My oral surgeon was not available so I had to see his partner instead. I told him word for word what I had told the idiot doctor who called me a Hypochondriac. But this guy was listening, he knew I was being truthful. He said, “Open your mouth”. He then, with one finger, squeezed the gum where one of the wisdom teeth used to be located, and boom, there it was, a huge blob of white pus. “There is your problem” he said. “You have nasty pus infections in all 4 locations where your wisdom teeth used to be. We have to get you on antibiotics, stat.”.

So one doctor said that I was a nutcase, but the big blob of white pus, said otherwise.

Thus, some doctors are absolute idiots.

By the way, I went to a special doctor who removes amalgam fillings. He had an extra large waiting area, thus the walls were big. But you could not see the walls. They were covered in letters saying things like, “Thank you for saving my life”.

They all listed the same symptoms such as, candida yeast infection internally, and externally, dead skin patches in mouth, sinus cavities filled with candida yeast, Hypoglycemia, shingles, constantly recurring pink eye, skin rashes, poor blood circulation, etc.

My gosh OTRA that is an awful thing for a professional to call you a hypochondriac. I guess I really am one to the point where I scower the internet looking for an alternative disease than sz. Anyways, to the OP

I do have all my teeth but I found a dentist who is willing to work out a payment plan so we’ll see. If I was smart I’d stop chewing tobacco but it makes me feel relaxed so maybe a toothless smile is in my future. I don’t know but I try.
