Have you ever found it was easier to do for others

than it is to do for yourself? It’s a lot easier for me to do chores for my provider than it is to get myself to do things for myself. I guess I love her more than I love me.

Interesting

That’s a good trait.

I used to be careful to do things for others when I was in someone’s house or establishment, but ever since contracting a chronic headache I’ve been super-selfish and barely do much for people. It’s a part of me that I hate.

I have this problem. My therapist says it’s because, in our society, women are taught to be caretakers at the expense of their own needs, so many women don’t learn that they’re just as worth taking care of as other people.

I do this. It’s a lot easier for me to do anything when someone else is involved. When it’s just for me I’m awful.

I used to be an EMT for six years so I like helping people. But with me being sick, I am unable to do this anymore. It was very fufulling to be able to help others.
With all my issues now, I have alot on my plate just to function halfway normal now so I do focused alot on myself(out of necessity). I still do try to help others in my support groups though, I bring in quite a bit of materials that have been helpful to me.

Not particularly no. I look out for number one. Keeping myself happy is the best way to avoid an episode.

I go the extra mile for others because i feel my own expectations to do so, but recently ive taken more care into myself which has helped how i perceive what i should be doing for myself and others
