I called once our acute help line. It has been in the news that the number of callers to the mental help hotlines has increased in these past four weeks due to the current world events.
I have never called a mental health hotline. When I’m in need of talking to someone I call a relative. If it’s the middle of the night, I just take my clozapine prn and sleep.
I call them sometimes, not so much recently as I got sick of being on hold for so long
yeah, on Facebook, they got me all figured out, all the ads for online or phone counseling.
they mean well.
I’ve called the crisis line many times, but I haven’t called in maybe 3 years.
It’s nearly impossible to reach someone there.
Yes and probably 3/10 times they have actually been helpful. Most of the time they talk down to you or dont take you seriously. I generally CBA a lot of the time to bother unless I feel desperate because I feel rebuffed when I try to reach out for help.
I have not.

Had crisis called on me once. They checked up on me for about a couple weeks then it stopped.
I tried once and it was a total waste of time. The girl I spoke to sounded like she was about 12 years old and had no idea how to converse with anyone let alone someone that was feeling suicidal.
I will never phone them again.
I’ve called my local crisis line many times. No hold time and it usually comes down to me going there to talk with a case manager. In worse times stay the night there as well. Ive called twice in the past 2 months and I just went in and talked to someone and got out of the house. My house is a toxic stress land so just getting out helps me. And venting.
Yes, I called them when I was very psychotic.
I called one about 2 1/2 months ago. The guy on the other end barely said anything. I wanted the answers to my problems; I wanted my problems solved but it was just me talking for 15 minutes and then he hung up.
For a mental health hotline, they weren’t so hot.
Nope, never have. I wonder if we even have one here. I always assume if you call one the cops will show up and take you to a mental ward.
No. Ive called the ward a couple times. They mostly said take a prn.
I called once. Said i had suicide thoughts and plans but i dont think ill follow through with them. They didn’t do anything for me. Just said to go make an appointment with pdoc.
So basically unless i was gonna kill myself right there then they would help lol.
So ya that was the last time i called
I’ve talked often, nearly all the time about my sz.
on Facebook,
and they got me figured out,
lots of ads for calls and online counseling.
fu-ck-ers, I’ll do my own search,
stop tracking me.
sorry, I guess I already said that.
the ER isn’t much better. it’s all screwed up.
I have many years ago. They’re generally helpful but they’re kinda there just to make sure you don’t have solid plans to hurt yourself.
