The closest that I came was when I bought a 95 Camaro z28 in 1996. I have never owned a brand new vehicle, but I came close with that Camaro.

I bought a Volkswagen New Beetle in 2001 (Kermit the Frog green), and a Hyundai Veloster in 2012 (black). My current car, a red Mini Cooper, I bought used. I didn’t have the money for a new one.
I’ve had a vehicle ever since I was 16 (I’m 43 now), but I’ve only had 3 in all that time, and they were all used.
I bought a brand new Jeep when I was 22.
Min-coops rock!
Used to drive valet so I seen and driven lots of cool cars.
Nearly bought a new PT Cruiser once but the salesman didn’t want to deal much.
I rented a PT Cruiser 15 or 16 years ago. It was a nice drive. I drove through the Mojave desert in it, from LA to Vegas.
EDIT: And yes, the Mini kicks butt!
I bought a PT cruiser and the engine overheated and went bad TWICE. Once after I had replaced the old engine. Don’t get me started on PT cruisers.
Ugh. So it was a total lemon that just looked cute?
After my failed deal some years later I learned the real reputation of Cruisers. Glad I didn’t get it.
It was one of the worst cars that I ever owned. My Chevy Silverado was probably the best buy that I have ever made as far as automobiles go. I bought it used and it lasted forever.
The newest car I ever owned was a 2004 Ford. I bought it in 2008. 1,500 dollars 36,000 miles. Lasted me until 2019. I think I got a great price on it.
Right now I own a 2002 Kia. 90,000 miles when I got it.
I never had the money for a brand new car. I think its wise to buy a 1-2yrs old car as the price goes down significantly once it used eventhough the mileage is very low.
Thats a great great price, where did get it? Kijiji?
I bought it from an uncle that was a mechanic at an auto dealer. Someone left it there after they repaired it. It sat there for a couple of years and he managed to get me a good price.
I bought a 2007 Nissan Sentra in 2008. That was my first “newer” car. Before that they were all 15+ years old. It had less than 20K miles on it. Then in 2017 we bought a 2015 Subaru Legacy. That’s the fanciest car I’ve ever owned. I’ve always had really old cars, so even kind of new was novel.
When I was young before buying my Honda Civic 2008 in 2011 I almost bought an Acura TL 2010 as the price was unbelievable, the seller changed her mind later and decided to keep the car. It has an AWD 3.7-liter SOHC VTEC V-6 engine with 280HP and looks really nice, it was white.
I have not. My parents bought me a trailblazer for college with about 120k and it lasted me about 12 years. It had 270k when I scrapped it. I couldn’t believe it lasted me that long. Hardly had any problems with it. A control arm broke and the mechanic recommended to keep driving it but I bought another car with 120k. I want to see how much the used electric f150s will go for in a while.
I have bought two. When my son was born my wife wanted a new car for the baby. I had a 1970 Mustang.
I bought a brand new Mitsubishi Eclipse. Black with no air conditioning. Who the hell buys a car with no air conditioning? Well this dummy did.
A few months later I became a car salesman and sold myself a brand new 1993 Camaro. With air conditioning. I bought it with the college graduate program. Gave myself a really good deal.
Will never buy another new one. But those new Corvettes are bad ass. If I had the money I might get one.
I like Broncos too and I am a Ford guy and they have a new one but it isn’t as tough as it used to be. Doesn’t tow much so I won’t buy one.
I did once, about three months ago, a 2021 Kia Rio. I had intended on buying a car that had been leased for a couple years, like I did with my last car, but I’m too impulsive I suppose. My last car was a 2015 Kia Rio, which I got in 2017.
This is my new one I bought in August.
Cars are so expensive now. The new eclipse I bought in 1993 was like $9999. That’s why no air conditioning. I was a broke college kid and it was cheap.
The top of the line Camaro I bought a few months later was only like $16,000.
You can hardly find a good used car for that now.
