Have u got any hobbies?

Today at the job interview they spend a lot of time asking about my hobbies. I am not doing a lot on my hobbies like i was doing in the past. It makes me think your hobbies measures your recovery. I intend to pick up my hobbies again.

What about you? What keep u from u hobbies? Did u develop new hobbies or pick up old hobbies?

Yes hobbies are excellent.
Chess is one hobby of mine, but I am gradually developing.
I will add tennis and perhaps other stuff.

I play final fantasy XIV as a hobby

I had some hobbies (philosophy, theology, online gaming, chess…) but now it is hard for me to concentrate so I’m trying to find something more easy.
At the moment I’m very interested on learning to make some flour products at home.

I love playing the concertina. Other than that I love studying the American Civil War.

I have lots of hobbies. Reading, walking, videogames, physical training…

  • Writing

My main hobby right now is writing. What keeps me from it is my negative voices telling me how bad it sucks and tries to overwhelm me with what I need to do for stories. Create compelling characters, don’t use adverbs, stay away from words in ING, don’t start sentences with the same word, avoid passive voice…(i.e. show don’t tell)…it can seem pretty daunting at times.

  • Coloring
  • Reading
  • Watching movies/TV

All three of these are affected by my concentration levels. Obviously if i can’t focus on what I’m reading I don’t take anything in. Movies & TV shows get hard to follow, even ones I’ve scene if my concentration is bad. And coloring I need to concentrate to stay inside the lines and pick the right coloring combinations so they don’t turn out ugly.Mood can also affect coloring as if I’m in a darker mood my pictures are done in dark tones…I may like them when they first turn out but once the mood passes I don’t like them any more because they’re too dark. If I’m watching to much TV or movies, my voices tell me I’m wasting my time and I need to do something productive so I find it hard to sit through it all the way.

Hobbies are excellent ways to not only help one deal with stressors, but learn coping skills to handle things as well.
For myself I play tons of PC MMo / rpg / Games
Read and write and draw things.

I like to do projects , ceramic tile, repairs around the house, rebuilt my son’s engine on his truck, build some wood projects. Anything to keep the mind and hands busy. I do the most when recovering but always try to stay busy. Couldn’t emagine recovery with out it.
