I haven’t been on this forum for a while, because I went to my hometown to look after my mom who is hospitalised. For nearly two weeks I went to the ward everyday and played the role of a nurse.
In China when your family member was hospitalised you have to stay in the ward 24 hours a day to look after your loved one, Your resposibility includs monitoring the infusion bags, helping with urination and relieve the bowels, giving a sponge bath once everyday, help with changing clothes, bringing 3 meals to the ward and sleeping beside the bed at night in case your loved one wants to go to toilet, and of couse paying the bill.
My mom has three daughters. So three of us take turns to look after her It is so hard for us because you have to stay in the ward 24 hours a day. And it’s been 12 days by now.
That’s really tough, @green5. My heart goes out to you. When my mom was sick for a long time, my siblings, my dad and I took turns caring for her at home. It was horrible. I loved my mom, but she wasn’t herself and she needed constant supervision and physical care.
I hope your mom gets better really soon and you can have a respite, and that she’ll be well again. ️
