Was just on Wikipedia perusing some topics and came across this book “Intereptation of Schizophenia” which had some pretty interesting theories that sets forth demonstrative evidence of a psychological etiology for schizophrenia.
I was just curious if anyone has read this book or knows more about his theories underlined in it, mostly those relating to the parental structure and discipline during adolescence.
Silvano Arieti was in the minority of general theories of Schizophrenia concerning the psychological factors in the etiology of schizophrenia as opposed to biological factors. I just found it an interesting theory and felt it hit home for me a bit, although i do believe i have biological factors that have lead me to the illness. I found it very interesting and first I have learned of someone with theories of this nature and curious if anyone has any more insight or opinions concerning this subject.
I do see a tdoc regularly @everhopeful. It will just be a while before my next session, i plan to get his opinion of the theory as well. I dont know if i can buy into this whole theory, but it definitely has some interesting aspects that i can see possibly being true. I definitely dont quite agree to the links made with Freuds theories, but this was just a small excerpt and was looking for some more insight into the book if anyone had any. More for curiosity sake then anything else.
