Has Anyone Had This Experience?

So I dont know if this is some kind of delusion, but it feels like it may be rooted in psychosis. Ive also read somewhere on here before where someone experienced something very similar to this. Anyways, its a feeling that my brain can no longer “produce” sleep or something. As if my brain cannot enable me to sleep or like Ive “forgotten” how. Its extremely disturbing and usually ends up with me in a reversed sleep pattern where Ill either sleep during the day or have extremely disturbed sleeping schedules.

Try melatonin every night for a week. Just 3 mg or so. I sleep at 8 pm and wake at 6pm after taking it for a week.

I was literally just thinking that earlier. I can still go to sleep but it doesn’t feel as restful as it used to. Also I sleep at lot more than normal, like 12+ hours a day.

I was just complaining about this to myself today. Last night I went to bed at 3 am. I woke up at 12:30 (so 9 1/2 hours of sleep) but still felt very groggy as though I’d gotten too little sleep or was waking up at 5 am or something.

It’s now 1:30 and I’m still having trouble getting myself going. I know I have a circadian rhythm disorder but it’s a huge pain. And I feel like even if I do follow my natural rhythm, I still need an excessive amount of sleep. I just never feel rested after waking up no matter what.

There’s another sleep disorder called “long sleep disorder” or something eloquent like that that literally just means you need more sleep than the average person. But what are the flipping chances I have 3 sleep disorders. There has to be some kind of underlying pathology there.

I think its called delayed sleep phase disorder.

That’s the circadian rhythm one but there’s another one for people who need more sleep. So like delayed sleep phase alone you still sleep 7-8 hours but just when you go to bed and when you wake up is different. Vs the other one you literally need more sleep to function.

That sounds like me. I’ve always slept way longer than other people, and I don’t feel rested if I have less than 9 hours of sleep, even though my friend keeps telling me I should only need 7. I often end up feeling tired and taking naps in the daytime too.

When delusional i think that people only pretend to sleep and that in fact they do yoga in secret or mind work or have sex in their minds with people who live near them all night… or in communion with the radio and partner etc it is a very tiny amount of sleep that i get at times like this - literally unconscious for only an hour or two a night
I think this is common

I had a problem where I didn’t sleep for 6 months… It was horrible…

I have a lot of trouble with my sleep on and off. When it first started, I slept only 1hour each night for two weeks. At the end of two weeks, I was so tired that I kept on falling asleep everywhere including while eating, but still not in my bed. It was awful!

I experience this on a daily basis, I just chalk it up to sz. Coffee helps keep me from falling back asleep but most days I never really wake up.
