I’m wondering more and more everyday about if I had bipolar instead. Or at the same time. I wonder how many people are being considered for permanent hospitalization due to missing out on mania medicine
Of course always ask your doctor. Yes, i was first diagnosed with psycotic depression then 6 months later was schizoaffective bipolar type. What makes you doubt your diagnosis?
Because I’ve been on 11 medicines and this seroquel and depakote are making my head feel better and I simply feel better, depakote and vraylar and seroquel are the only meds FDA approve for bipolar 1 mania
Thats so awesome that you feel better! Its for sure possible bring it up to them😊
My diagnosis has changed quite a bit. Bipolar then schizophrenia then schizoaffective bipolar type then schizoaffective depressive type
Thanks ebrabbit!
I have schizoaffective bipolar type. It started when I was 12. That’s when I started hallucinating and having mood swings.
But I was diagnosed with depression, at age 12. Then I was diagnosed with bipolar type 2, at age 23. Then my diagnosis changed to schizoaffective bipolar type, at age 23, as well.
I know schizoaffective bipolar type is the correct diagnosis for me. I’ve read about it, in depth, and it matches me perfectly.
Also, I was reevaluated, at age 26, in the hospital. They diagnosed me, again, with schizoaffective bipolar type. And I switched pdocs, at age 27, and I was diagnosed, again, with schizoaffective bipolar type.
So, it seems schizoaffective bipolar type is the correct diagnosis, for me, across the board.
I was diagnosed with depression at about 19. It wasn’t.
All throughout Covid-19 they were treating anxiety, but now they say the anxiety is secondary to psychosis
Since Covid-19 I have had 1 suicide attempt, lost 3 jobs and now been off sick for nearly 5 months,
I ■■■■■■■ hate myself
I was first diagnosed with psychosis. Then schizophrenia. I also take an antidepressant for negatives and depression. I don’t think I’m misdiagnosed but I do wonder if I’ll struggle life long or if I will get better. I’m 35.
I think I am being misdiagnosed. I was diagnosed with Sza at 21 almost 22 and now I got bipolar type associated with it. I just talked to my doctor the other day and he talked as if I actually had bipolar. Strange. I gotta advocate for myself with these people. I should have said “What do you mean bipolar?!”
